Blowout Preventer Control Hoses – High Pressure, High Temperature and Fire Resistant

In the dangerous world of deep drilling and exploration BOPs provide fail-safe protection to the rig and its crew. They must be dependable, strong and in perfect working condition.

High Pressure

Blowout Preventer systems requiring high pressure, high temperature and fire resistant control lines. Manufactured with superior components and able to operate in tough crisis oilfield conditions, API 16D BOP control hoses (BOP hydraulic control lines) are designed to hold the rated working pressure of a blowout preventer system even in harsh fire exposure conditions. They are able to withstand a minimum of 5 minutes at 1300degF (700degC) flame temperature without losing the rated working pressure, ensuring that critical well control operations can continue in any fire scenario.

Constructed with a black, oil-resistant nitrile tube and a red, fire & abrasion resistant cover, BOP control hoses have multiple layers of spirally wrapped steel wire reinforcement. They also have a variety of insulating layers that protect the inner tube from heat transfer to external surroundings. They are available with a range of fittings including male NPT threaded ends, female NPT threaded ends and crimped couplings with over-ferrule fire protection. They are fully tested to API 16D and EUB Directive 36 hydrostatic pressure and Lloyds 1000/499 fire test standards.

High Temperature

BOP control hose (Blow-Out Preventer hydraulic control line) is manufactured with superior components to operate under harsh oil field conditions. This specialized piping connects the BOP to various valves and can withstand high temperatures, pressures and fire in safety critical applications. Choke and kill hoses are used to direct drilling fluids from the annulus to the choke manifold and the well high pressure pipeline, while BOP hoses are capable of containing the rated operating pressure during a 1300 degF (700 degC) flame temperature test for five minutes.

Flame Resistant

The BOP control hose (Blowout Preventer hydraulic control line) is made with superior components and designed to operate in harsh oil field conditions. This hose is certified to withstand a minimum 1300 degF(700 degC) flame temperature at rated working pressure for 5 minutes to ensure the BOP system continues to function properly during a crisis.

BOP hoses are used to connect the blowout preventer and other valves to control well pressure during drilling operations. They are armored to resist abrasion, cutting, gouging and withstand severe shock. They can be fitted with a variety of connectors such as male NPT threaded ends, quick disconnects, flanges and hammer unions.

Corrosion Resistant

Corrosion resistance is an important consideration in any flexible metal hose application. Different alloy grades have varying degrees of resistance to corrosion-causing media. Wall thickness also plays a role. A thicker hose will be more resistant to corrosion than a thinner one.

Our API 16D blowout preventer hoses (BOP hydraulic control lines) are manufactured using superior components to operate in tough crisis oil field conditions. They are capable of maintaining the rated operating pressure in 1300 degF (700 degC) flame temperature for 5 minutes.

The hoses are used as a flexible connection between BOP’s (Blowout Preventers) and the other valves that control well pressure during drilling operations. It’s armoured to handle BOP high pressure hydraulic applications and can withstand 5000psi in direct exposure to fire. It’s constructed with multiple layers of textile fabric and steel cable, and a black oil resistant nitrile cover that is fire retardant and stainless steel armored to handle abrasion, cutting, gouging, corrosion, oil, and weather. It’s fitted with hammer unions and camlock couplings.
